Do you know why Pepper Sprays are called pepper sprays and not defense sprays as they originally were? It is because the basic compound now used is OC. (Coleoresin Capsicum). It is a natural chemical, a derivative of various hot pepper plants. Being natural, it has not been found to be toxic in any way and will not harm tissue in the strength that is used in OC sprays. The effects of OC take about 20-30 minutes to wear off. But the big question is, how do they work? OC is an inflammatory agent. When a person is sprayed with OC, two things happen instantly. First the person’s eyes clamp shut, hard. Not only that, but if they do manage to open them they still can’t see well because the OC dilates the capillaries of the eye and causes temporary blindness. Second, an immediate fit of uncontrollable coughing doubles the person over and often sends them to their knees. The OC causes an instant inflammation of breathing tissues restricting all but life support breathing. The condition is temporary but very debilitating. OC has the affect of putting up a brick wall between the assailant and the victim. Whoever is sprayed with it stops what they are doing, stops what they are thinking – period! One veteran law enforcement trainer stated, “It’s like being hit with a flame thrower.” This is true even for those on drugs, drunk or psychotic. So now that you know how powerful and yet safe (non-toxic) Pepper Spray can be, what’s stopping you from making sure that you and/or your loved one(s) always have one with you? Our Wild Fire brand sprays start at only $10.00!! For as low as $10.00 a pepper spray could save your life from a criminal attack! In addition to the Wild Fire brand, we carry the MACE and Pepper Shot brands. They come in a variety of sizes, prices and styles. The smaller ones have key rings so that they can attach to your set of keys. There are the combo ones…a pepper spray inside a kubaton…so you now have 2 weapons in one. There are ones shaped like a pistol for a longer spray range. We have ones that clip onto your car’s visor, a larger canister size for the home, one disguised as a pen and ones especially designed for joggers. And for the fashion conscious woman, they come in various colors and fashionable animal print patterns. So now that you know that Pepper Sprays are safe, yet extremely effective and come in a style that fits you and a price that fits your budget, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Go on over to our website at: www.kisssurvivalservices.com and order yourself one or two or three. And remember…SHIPPING IS FREE! I was meeting with some friends the other day where the discussion was being led by a friend, Chris, who is a self proclaimed Urban Survival Specialist….he has over 30 years of experience and I can vouch that he really knows his stuff. When the topic of “Self Defense” came up, he made the remark that he didn’t believe in self defense. His words, as close to being verbatim as I can remember were: “When it comes to someone intent on hurting me or my family, as far as I’m concerned, it’s full blown combat. It’s about survival”.
That took me back for a moment. Don’t believe in self defense?? Wow! My business is about self defense/protection so I really had to mull this over in my mind and what I discovered was Chris is absolutely right. I’ve been teaching (non-martial) self defense to women for 8 years in an effort to help prevent them from becoming victims of violent crimes. The name of my company has the word “survival” in it. But now, I am beginning to wonder if my teaching philosophy is a bit stale. I teach that you should first and foremost try to avoid any situation that might cause you to be a victim and how to be aware of a dangerous situation by using your common sense and instincts. I even teach tips and techniques if you are actually attacked. All of this will continue to be part of my teaching…but it’s time to take it a bit further when it comes to a situation when an attack becomes a reality. I need to step it up on the aggressive mind set….it’s not just about defending yourself…it’s about SURVIVAL!!! I no longer want to teach these ladies to only react with the right moves, I want their minds to go into an aggressive full blown combat mode…I want their minds to be thinking about SURVIVAL for themselves and any loved one(s) they may be protecting. I want them to learn to automatically go into that combat mind set to SURVIVE AT ALL COSTS! With this in mind, you will start seeing some changes in my writings, teachings and even products. I am fully committing myself to the SURVIVAL mind set, not just the “self defense” mind set. It’s going to be an adventurous experience as I teach women to dig deep inside themselves to create a combative mind set along with the aggressive skills that will empower them to not only Survive but to Thrive. The elbow is the strongest point on your body. It’s almost impossible to break. Some of the ways you can use the elbow in self protection is: Elbow an attacker in the ribs or sternum Elbow upper cut to the groin Elbow strike to the spine if the attacker is trying to lift you up or carry you. Elbow an uppercut to the chin Elbow a strike to the nose The last two might be difficult if your attacker is a lot taller than you but the others work just fine. The new section Survivor Stories was added to our website today. We will be sharing a variety of true life survivor stories from domestic violence, criminal attacks, disasters, war vets, etc. The first story was posted this morning and it is a part of my story and gives a bit of understanding to those who wonder why I started my company. I'm looking for a variety of stories so if you have one to share, please contact me. Now head on over and click on the Survivor Stories heading and check it out.
Once again, my wonderful (read: best brother in the world) webmaster has been busy slaving away…while sick…making changes and improving the KISS website.
One of the changes is that you can now subscribe to our mailing list. I know that you may all ready think that you get too many emails, but I promise not to send you junk but to send emails with either very informative survival information that you can use or of a great sale or the introduction of a new fabulous product. As you click on the different headings in the website you will see at the top of the page a green oval box that says ”Subscribe to Mailing List”…click that…it’s that easy. I am even working on a promotion of some kind for everyone who subscribes. If you have a suggestion of something that you find enticing, please comment on this blog. Another great change is we’ve added a section called: Survivor Stories. Right now if you click on it, it may be blank. But starting in a day or so, we are going to feature real life stories of survivors. I volunteered to do the first one…you know to get it started and to let my KISS Cohorts know a little bit about me, my past, my story and why I have chosen this business. Hint: It’s because I’m a survivor myself. I am planning on having a variety of stories from all walks of life, from domestic violence, to criminal attacks to war veterans and all kinds of other survival situations….including dogs. I know that may sound odd but I’m a huge animal lover and have gotten to know several dog rescue groups and the stories of what some of these sweet animals have had to survive is amazing. So why shouldn’t they be included? I am hoping that anyone who reads these If you have a story you’d like to share, please let me know. If you know me personally, feel free to call or text me or you can click on the “Contact” heading on our website at: www.kisssurvivalservices.com or message me on our Facebook page. I’d love to hear from you. Today I wanted to feature one of our very inexpensive but easy to carry and very resourceful products. It’s called the Heart Attack. Remember how the self defense experts used to tell you to place your keys between your fingers and punch? Well, the heart attack is much better and more effective. It is 3.5 inches long and made of tough plastic. It comes with a key ring so that you can add it to your key chain. To use it you hold it between your fingers and you can scratch an attacker’s face, poke it in their eye or throat or just simply use it to punch your attacker. They only cost $4.95 and shipping is free, so you can order several and give them as gifts. In fact, this is the free gift that I have given to my blog followers who have posted comments on my blog, Available on our website at: www.kisssurvivalservices.com This is what I like to call the CLAW! otherwise known as the Grab. We ladies have always heard how we are supposed to "knee" a guy in the groin to protect ourselves. However, this is not always possible depending on what position we are in when being attacked. A more effective way is to put your hand in a grab position...like a claw. As you go for the groin area, the first contact should be in the form of a HARD slap, then you GRAB and SQUEEZE the testicles as hard as you possibly can. Next...and this is important...PULL as hard as you can. You can use this technique if you are facing him or if he has attacked you from behind, just reach your hand behind you and make contact. Also if he has knocked you to the ground...you reach up and GRAB. Additional ways you can your claw is to literally claw his face, especially if you have long nails or go for the throat. Do not try to surround the neck with your hand. Instead grab straight for the windpipe, forcing your thumb and fingers in behind the larynx. Then squeeze as hard as you possibly can. I’ve all ready mentioned how excited I am about some of the new products we’ve just added and one of my favorites is the new design in the pepper sprays.
Animal print is so fashionable these days and of course, we want to keep up with the fashion world. When you go to our website and check out the pepper sprays you will see that the Wildfire and Pepper Shot lines now have pepper sprays that come with fashionable holsters in various colors of Leopard and Cheetah prints. As always, the spray has a range of 6-8 ft. and each comes with a belt clip, quick release key chain and safety lock. So now you can protect yourself while looking Fashionable and Fabulous. In fact, maybe you should have one in every color/pattern. After all, ladies, we need to match our outfits don’t we? Below are pictures of two of them but there are more. Check out these awesome new animal print pepper sprays at: www.kisssurvivalservices.com As you can see by the title of this blog, I am very excited over some changes here at KISS Survival Services.
First of all we have some new products and as always they are more powerful and now even more fashionable! Our fabulous webmaster while adding the products made some changes on the product pages. These pages make it easier to see what products we have available. For instance, in the Pepper Sprays, I have a lot of people ask specifically for MACE products. We carry MACE along with Wildfire and Pepper Shot…all great products. Now when you go to Pepper Sprays you can see all the products available from each of these on its own page. You will also see some new designs in the Wildfire & Pepper Shot sprays. This week I will posting blogs on some of the new products but in the meantime, go over to the products on our website at: www.kisssurvivalservices.com and check it out for yourself. Please feel free to comment on any of the products or the design of the website. I have a free gift for the first 10 comments posted to this blog. |
